The Blessed Virgin Mary has been appearing and giving messages to six children in Međugorje, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The apparitions began on June 24, 1981 and continue today – 30 years of messages.
The apparitions at Medjugorje will prove themselves true or false before too long. Each of the 6 visionaries have been given 10 secrets to be revealed during their lifetime. The secrets will be used to bring worldwide conversion. The third secret of one of the visionaries tells of a lasting sign on Apparition Mountain that will be permanent, indestructible, and beautiful and will appear spontaneously.

Islamic views on Mary
- Mary, the mother of Jesus, is considered one of the most righteous women in the Islamic tradition. She is mentioned more in the Qur’an than in the entire New Testament. According to the Qur’an, Jesus was born miraculously by the will of God without a father. His mother is regarded as a chaste and virtuous woman and is a highly respected figure in Islam. The Qur’an states that Jesus was the result of a virgin birth.
- Mohammed, the founder of Islam, said of his daughter, Fatima,: “She has the highest place in heaven after the Virgin Mary.” It is a fact that Moslems from various nations, especially from the Middle East, make many pilgrimages to Our Lady of Fatima’s Shrine in Portugal. The combination of an Islamic name and Islamic devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary is a great attraction to Moslems.
